WHAT YOU GET
Spoon Jam is for all spoonerds, new and experienced. You'll walk away with everything you make as well as the knowledge of how to delve further into this craft. There will be a spoon shop and tool shop, and our awesome free carving area will have rolling documentaries, carving books and spoons on display from the word's best carvers.
The weekend will be packed with workshops, demonstrations and loads of carving time. In 2018 the site will have a number of sheltered carving areas set among a beautiful coastal forest.
Everyone will be able to sign up to a workshop with each of the teachers. Workshops will run for 1 hour and 45 minutes and these will cover a range of spoon carving skills and techniques. All workshops will be open to carvers of all levels, however, additional workshops for beginners will be run on the Saturday by Brad van Luyt. Signing up for workshops will take place from 8am on Saturday after registration.
Spoon Jam a BYO food event, and we will have food and coffee vans on site for some extra carving fuel!
There will be a huge range of timbers for people to carve, and lots of friendly folk for people to sit around and carve with.
And of course, no Spoon Jam is complete without our annual egg and spoon race to finish off the weekend!
