WHAT YOU GET
Spoon Jam is for all spoonerds, new and experienced. You'll walk away with everything you make as well as the knowledge of how to delve further into this craft. There will be a spoon shop and tool shop, and our awesome free carving area will have rolling documentaries, carving books and spoons on display from the word's best carvers.
The weekend will be packed with workshops, demonstrations and loads of carving time. In 2019 the site will have a number of sheltered carving areas set among the beautiful Cuppacumbalong grounds.
Everyone will be able to sign up to a workshop with each of the teachers. Workshops will run for 1 hour and 45 minutes and these will cover a range of spoon carving skills and techniques. All workshops will be open to carvers of all levels, however, additional workshops for beginners will be run on the Saturday by Brad van Luyt. Signing up for workshops will take place from 8am on Saturday after registration.
All meals, including breakfast, lunch and dinner will be provided by our fantastic hosts at Cuppacumbalong. If you have any special dietary requirements then please let us know and we'll try our best to accommodate them.
You Spoon Jam ticket also includes free onsite BYO camping for tents, caravans, motorhomes etc. If camping isn't your cup of tea then Cuppacumbalong offer fantastic comfortable accommodation at the homestead or in glamping style bell tents with real beds. Any accommodation beyond BYO camping needs to be booked separately through the Cuppacumbalong website.
There will be a huge range of timbers for people to carve, and lots of friendly folk for people to sit around and carve with. There will be plenty of wood to go around, but If you have some nice wood you would like to bring for carving and sharing, then please do! We especially love wood such as birch, poplar, sycamore, apple, pear and cherry.
And of course, no Spoon Jam is complete without our annual egg and spoon race to finish off the weekend! Who will be the 2019 champ?
