Slowness, wilderness, roots & roaming, that's what we do. Our aim is to build an absolutely ginormous spooniverse where the simple act of sitting in the shade with a log in one hand and a knife in the other ends up with a satisfied and rekindled soul. After thousands of people passing through our spoon and puppet carving school it's safe to say that a day or two spent learning hand carved happiness gives you a wonderful chance to exhale into the slow lane. It's about crafting in the here and now. It's spoonfulness!

IT'S SPOON SCHOOL
Perch yourself on a log in a sunny spot and picture yourself and your buddies all sat around an old sun bleached picnic table, eating homemade goodies and having the best of times. Now imagine the satisfaction of scooping up lunch with a unique and beautiful wooden spoon made with your own hands. You can do this, anyone can. All you need is a few hours or a few days at our Spoon School. We'll show you how to safely use the simple tools and carve your own wooden cutlery buddies. It's heaps of fun too!
A little story about Spoonsmith. How a moment in a bookstore and a job counting chimpanzees led to a love of the bush and a surplus of wood shavings.
All spoons are made on a foot powered lathe or by axe, knife and hand. I source the wood myself to ensure happy sustainable forests.
We keep a range of beautiful carving tools and hand forged axes made by Morakniv, Ben Orford, Hultafors and
